Support the Whole Child
Being back in school means tackling a tsunami of post-pandemic issues. The annual fund provides students with high quality educators, important on-site programs, and research-based approaches to give children experiences that
will propel them to higher education.
Your support is critical to provide school infrastructure, security and the health safety students need. We strive to maintain a strong adult to child ratio in the building which leads to decreased levels of anxiety, aggressive behaviors, and stress while contributing to greater
social competence and better receptive and expressive language skills. With your support, Erie
Elementary can continue to provide a much needed high-quality public
school option in Chicago’s Humboldt Park community.
The Annual Fund supports the Whole Child by providing:
- An extra Clinically Licensed Social Worker in the building
- Trauma-informed training and professional development for staff
- Second Step Social & Emotional Learning Curriculum
- On-site Paraprofessionals, Occupational and Speech Therapists
- Responsive Classroom approaches and support
- Parent engagement programs and support
Because of your support we are enabled to continually strengthen our trauma-informed practices, provide on-site specialists to support students' social and emotional well-being, and support individualized academic programs to provide our students a strong foundation for lifelong success.
The Annual Fund also supports:
- COVID-19 infrastructure such as air purifiers and HVAC system repairs
- Hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves
- Music, Art and Gym for every student
- School safety and logistics operations
- In-house printing and school supplies
- Classroom desks, chairs and rugs
